Plenary talks, short research and lightning talks, and a social\/networking event for anyone working on volcanoes in watery places. Held over 2 time zone sessions for all to participate. Join us!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year we hosted over 60 people during two sessions to see 21 fantastic ECR presentations, with attendees from 22 countries, 6 continents, and with a 79% ECR turnout. We may add extra sessions the following day depending on interest.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You need to have paid your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iavceivolcano.org\/membership\/membership-fees-for-2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IAVCEI\u00a0membership fees<\/a>\u00a0to participate (do reach out to us if you have extenuating financial circumstances). Everything else associated with this\u00a0<strong>event is FREE<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>ECRs can be anyone<\/strong>&nbsp;from undergraduates, masters and PhD students, postdocs, to early career professionals and educators associated with the world of marine volcanism.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ECRs have<strong>\u00a0a choice of\u00a0<\/strong>either 1) live online\u00a0<strong>10 minute research<\/strong>\/topic presentations, or 2) a\u00a0<strong>3 minute lightning<\/strong>\u00a0talk. Research talks can be pre-recorded if desired.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A <strong>plenary speaker<\/strong>\u00a0will begin each session highlighting recent advances and discoveries in our field, along with a welcome from the CoSV committee.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Each session (Atlantic and Pacific) will be followed by a\u00a0<strong>social\/networking event<\/strong>\u00a0where you can talk with a small group\u00a0of career mentors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Attendance is welcome to ALL<\/strong>&nbsp;in our field, not just our ECRs. However, our presentations focus will be to highlight the ongoing work of our CoSV ECRs.
